The scholarship project for Ukrainian media and journalists is extended for 2024



Public Interest Journalism Lab (PIJL), in cooperation with European Centre for Press and Media Freedom (ECPMF), is happy to announce that the Stipends project is extended for 2024. We launch a new Open Call for applications from Ukrainian independent regional media and journalists.


The Stipends project is implemented within the framework of the Voices of Ukraine support program. The program, led by the European Centre for Press and Media Freedom, is part of the Hannah-Arendt-Initiative and is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office.


Who can apply in 2024:


  • independent regional media outlets from the regions that are most affected by the hostilities, including the relocated ones, in particular from Donetsk, Luhansk, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Mykolaiiv, Odessa, Kyiv regions;

  • Ukrainian media outlets and journalists in different emergency situations.


Required conditions:


  • you should have the professional experience of not less than 2 years;

  • to be located and work on the territory of Ukraine;

  • to create your own, unique journalistic content of the public interest.

This is an opportunity to receive the support of 900 Euros monthly (in UAH equivalent by the current currency exchange rate) for 5-8 months of the current year, with a total amount of 4500-7200 Euros.


The deadline for applications is on May 10, 2024.
