PIJL and European Centre for Press and Media Freedom announce a new Open Call for the Stipends to Support Media and Journalists in 2025


Public Interest Journalism Lab (PIJL), in cooperation with European Centre for Press and Media Freedom (ECPMF), is happy to announce a new Open Call for applications from Ukrainian independent regional media and journalists in 2025.


The Stipends project is implemented within the framework of the Voices of Ukraine support program. The program, led by the European Centre for Press and Media Freedom, is part of the Hannah-Arendt-Initiative and is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office.


Who can apply:

  • independent regional media outlets from the regions that are most affected by the hostilities, in particular from Donetsk, Luhansk, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Odessa regions;

  • Ukrainian media outlets and journalists in different emergency situations.


Required conditions:

  • you should have the professional experience of not less than 2 years;

  • to be located and work on the territory of Ukraine;

  • to create your own, unique journalistic content of the public interest.


This is an opportunity to receive the support of 900 Euros monthly (in UAH equivalent by the current currency exchange rate) from February till June 2025, with a total amount of 3600-5400 Euros.

The deadline for applications is on January 10, 2025.
